Time to Put Your Best Smile Forward

Let’s face it, the old adage that “you never get a second chance to make a first impression” is true. There is also no doubt that people feel more at ease with someone they find attractive. Now there are some things we can’t change or augment, and no matter how high the heels are some guys will never pull off being 6 feet tall. However, there are some things you can change, and your smile is one of them. So we wanted to look some of the most state of the art technology to give you an advantage at making that great first impression with perfect set of pearly whites.

One form of procedure that has been around for quite some time are dental veneers. Dental veneers are thin covers that adhere to teeth to give teeth a more classically shaped look. There are basically two kinds of Veneers, Dental and Porcelain. Either can be used as the veneer itself can correct a multitude of imperfections such as stained teeth that have been damaged or can’t be whitened by bleaching, crooked or teeth that are misshapen, chipped, worn teeth, and most common are uneven spaces or large gaps between the upper front teeth. Dental Veneers can be made of either porcelain or a composite resin material however we recommend porcelain for a number of reasons.

They are more natural looking

They are strong and last decades

Porcelain Veneers do not require as much enamel removed as a crown or cap does

Porcelain is very difficult to stain

Another procedure for those who may be dealing with more serious problems with their teeth other than simple spacing or chips is a dental implant. Dental implants can be used for a single tooth, several teeth together, or even all of them. They are good for both function as well as esthetics. Of the three options when dealing with problems of this nature (denture, fixed dental bridge with cement, implants) for most, implants are the simplest and most logical solution. Although more expensive than dentures, they don’t carry the same stigma and R & D has improved them dramatically over the past two decades. Implants are often used for replacement but there are also areas where implants can assist in other dental procedures.

Both of these are viable options to give you that unfair advantage of having a smile that both puts people at ease and also gets you noticed because you never want to miss that opportunity to make that great first impression. One always leads with his best foot forward, make yours or smile.
